In what could be a massive technical failure, I'm posting my first-ever video.
(If you have quicktime installed, it doesn't work, and it's not Sunday, let me know in the comments.)
While future projects might include motion, my approach so far has been to accompany a collection of still images with a soundtrack that I've created from relevant environmental sounds. I'm not a strict literalist here - see a dog, hear a bark - but the audio and images are recorded in tandem and do relate to each other in some way. In this case, it was a visit to the Royal Ontario Museum with my camera club yesterday morning.
Running time is 59 seconds.

I liked it... very clean. Different than I was expecting but couldn't tell you what that is...
It started, then froze.
I suspect that's why I got a QT update pop-up.
On my normal computer with Opera, QT only worked if the material was very old.
The Vimeo version posted elsewhere didn't work either, but then I have NEVER gotten Vimeo to work.
Compounding this is that I'm using my old computer but with the latest Firefox just installed.
Everything looks and feels wrong, but at least I'm online again.
Having watched it several times now I am more and more intrigued by the presentation... there is a sense of suspense as the picture loads and then almost a desperation to take in the subtleties and detail before the frame gives way to the next dose of suspense... but the last shot is just plain funny. -B.
Thanks for that. If you use the link to my vimeo page in the main post, you'll find a version with a slightly different soundtrack. I've cleaned it up a bit and removed the mumbling male voice ("1954..."), which P. found distracting. (She's the only non-me person who saw the original edit, which didn't have that audio track included, but I've heard the same comment elsewhere as well.) I haven't decided which version I like better yet, but I'm leaning toward #2.
The last photo still makes me laugh.
