I have broken the links to hundreds and hundreds of photos, which will take a long time to repair. The workaround is to replace "photo.matthewpiers" in the link URL with "matthewpiers.smugmug". Awkward, but only temporary.

The perfect stillness of the water makes the duck's wake MORE than perfect, if that makes sense. An incredible moment you captured brilliantly. You should be posting this everywhere--flickr groups, (is there a duck group?) ST, anywhere it will be appreciated. That means don't bother putting it on photographytips.com.
Thanks very much. This was a photo that I took while waiting for another shot, and they both turned out really well. In fact, there's a third from the same moment that I also really like. Three keepers from one lunch break, with only twenty minutes to spend at the lake, is a phenomenal accomplishment for me.
My photography has been a casualty in a very difficult summer; you can see some of what's been happening from the photos here, but also from a lack of new material over the past many months. I'm only just starting to feel like I'm getting back in the groove. Hopefully it continues.
