Looking for a way out of this miserable place.
I have broken the links to hundreds and hundreds of photos, which will take a long time to repair. The workaround is to replace "photo.matthewpiers" in the link URL with "matthewpiers.smugmug". Awkward, but only temporary.

Thanks. I chose this for PhotoFriday's "poverty" theme because I think it's more expressive than the many photos that I have here of the living conditions in the abandoned spaces of the city.
For some reason, I neglected to mention where this was taken. It was found on a massive support column for the elevated expressway that runs across the lakeshore. This is a place where many people live, and the graffiti has a very different tone to it. There's none of the tagging or murals that characterize the rest of downtown, instead, it's scattered messages of despair.
