This is where Garrison Road crosses under the Gardiner Expressway. There aren't many places in Toronto where bridges are layered over each other, but there was once a rail line that passed under here. This is the same spur that ran under the Bathurst street bridge, which was a common photo subject for me up until five years ago. Residential towers have replaced the old industrial sites, and I rarely visit any more.
The wooden bracing in the second photo is there because the concrete of the expressway is crumbling.
It was just one more reason to spend all of my time looking up.
